Ceremonial Cacao
Cacao cuts through the mental clutter, enhancing focus and concentration enabling you to hear your heart, thus making self-expression, creativity and connection easier and more enjoyable, and while doing so it also creates a gentle state of euphoria that makes everything seem brighter and more joyful.
Cacao (the main ingredient in chocolate) helps to open the heart and provides energy in the form of theobromine, literally meaning "food of the Gods". When consumed in sufficient quantity and in the right setting, cacao is a powerful catalyst for all types of inner work. In a cacao ceremony, we work with this plant medicine to support our healing & growth. When approached this way, cacao will offer opportunities to cultivate greater self-love, awareness and expansion of our consciousness. Cacao Medicine, Cacao Ritual and Cacao Ceremony are all to open the heart chakra, Anahata. Cacao has been called the food of the gods and for thousands of years it has guided people from their mind into their heart. In the cacao ceremony we are given the opportunity to set intentions and drop deeper into presence and inner silence. Cacao also pairs beautifully with many other practices, including meditation, breathwork, sound therapy, yoga, dance, community circle's and shamanic journeying, among others.
Cacao is one of the most complex, nutritionally dense, and complete foods on the planet. When traditionally and minimally processed, it retains its wealth of naturally occurring minerals, antioxidants, and flavanols, as well as its powerful active compounds, theobromine, anandamide, and phenylethylamine. Cacao is so healthy, you can drink it every day! Other benefits of ceremonial cacao include:
Mood Enhancement: Cacao contains compounds that elevate mood, triggering the release of ‘feel-good’ chemicals like endorphins and serotonin resulting in deeper heart opening and love
Heart Health: High in flavonoids, cacao can reduce blood pressure and lower the risk of heart disease.
Nutrient-Rich: Packed with essential nutrients such as magnesium, iron, and potassium, cacao provides nourishment for the body.
Energy Boost: Natural compounds like theobromine and phenylethylamine offer a gentle energy lift and promote a sense of well-being.
Stress Reduction: Cacao contains anandamide, often called the ‘bliss molecule,’ which reduces stress and anxiety.
Enhanced Creativity: Some studies suggest cacao can stimulate cognitive function and creativity.
Spiritual Connection: Cacao has a history of ceremonial use for its introspective and heart-opening properties, fostering unity and mindfulness especially when used during meditation or spiritual practices
Mental Benefits: Effortless focus, inspiration and creativity boost
